A revista britânica de música NME elegeu o álbum de estréia do Strokes, "Is This It", de 2001, como o disco da década.

O grupo norte-americano lidera uma lista de 50 álbuns feita pela revista com base em votos de produtores musicais, executivos de gravadoras e músicos, incluindo membros do Radiohead e do Arctic Monkeys.

"Esta é a palavra final sobre os maiores álbuns dos anos 2000, conforme os votos de todos que ajudaram a fazer música de forma brilhante nesta década", disse Krissi Murison, editor da revista, reporta o site Contact Music.
